Jennifer Lawrence being Jennifer Lawrence.

I brought my little brother Spencer as my date and when I told him I was nominated for this [Hot & Funny] award, he told me that if under any circumstances I won, I had to say the following things.

Unfortunately for San Antonians, this was the Spurs playoff defense last night.

You think Durant’s ready for the Finals? I’m pretty sure the four fingers he’s extending in the above photo have more to do with the number of games remaining than they do with the number of games it took to eliminate the favored Spurs.

Kevin Durant has been on the championship radar since last year’s Western Conference Final birth where a younger Thunder team fell to Dirk and Co. Durant’s success since coming out of University of Texas he almost been preordained, but does a game 6 comeback win over the Popovich-helmed Voltron squad to make the NBA Finals really mean he’s made the leap? Not. Quite. Yet.

The Thunder aren’t done and if you’re a Thunder fan, the hope is that they’re just getting started. The Larry O’Brien trophy beckons and as Popovich said after game 6 (with the large caveat: if they win the next round too): “It’s just incredible, and I think it’s pretty cool for them.” I agree; now they just have to go out and do it. That’s a lot easier to write than to do, but they’re a good bet with Durant.
